The Shiva Samhita is a Sanskrit text on yoga, probably composed around the fifteenth century, that presents Vedantic philosophy alongside teachings on subtle anatomy, pranayama, mudras and meditation. James Mallinson's translation is based on a critical edition of the text and includes notes. It is an important source for the history of hatha yoga and its relationship to Tantric practices.
