A study of Yoruba religion by a Nigerian Methodist theologian who later became Patriarch of the Methodist Church Nigeria. Idowu emphasised the supremacy of the creator Olódùmarè over the òrìṣà, describing Yoruba religion as a form of 'diffused monotheism'. It was influential in African theology, though later scholars debated his emphasis.
