Summa Sacre Magice

The Compendium of Sacred Magic, Books 1 & 2

by Berengarius Ganelli · Stephen Skinner & Daniel Clark (trans. & ed.)

The opening volume of the first English translation of Berengar Ganell's Summa Sacre Magice, a vast fourteenth-century Catalan compendium of ritual magic preserved in a manuscript at Kassel. Ganell gathered material from the Sworn Book of Honorius, the Sigillum Dei, planetary and angelic magic into one systematic work. These first books treat the nature of magic, the divine names and the Seal of God. A landmark publication for students of medieval Solomonic tradition.
