The Book of Ceremonial Magic

Waite's revised and enlarged version of his earlier Book of Black Magic and of Pacts, surveying the principal grimoires: the Key of Solomon, the Lemegeton, the Grimorium Verum, the Grand Grimoire, the Heptameron, the Arbatel and others. He summarises and partly translates each, reproducing seals and circles, while adding his own sceptical and moralising commentary. Dated in its judgements, it remains a convenient overview and was many readers' first encounter with the grimoires.
